Is there a restaurant at the port

In most of the larger ports along the route you can eat on site or a few hundred metres from the quay, in a tavern, bar or restaurant. The most places to eat are on the waterfront in Mikołajki and at the port in Sztynort, which has three restaurants. Places by the ports are seasonal and change their hours, so check with the harbour master before counting on dinner after a long day on the water.

Below we list only places mentioned by port operators or sailing websites. We do not rate the food or give menu prices. Restaurants are one of the questions harbour masters hear most often, and we have collected short answers to the others, from shops to parking, in our article on questions to ask the harbour master in Masuria.

Data from port websites and sailing websites from 2024 to 2026. Check on site whether a place is open and until what time.

The most choice in Mikołajki, Sztynort and Giżycko

According to sailing websites, the Mikołajki waterfront has a dozen or so restaurants within walking distance of Wioska Żeglarska. From Port Miejski (the town port) it is approx. 100 m to the restaurants, and from the MKŻ marina on ul. Kajki approx. 300 m. The ports, their price lists and the number of berths are covered in our guide to the ports in Mikołajki.

In Sztynort everything is within the port grounds. The port website lists the Baba Pruska restaurant, open from 8 am to 10 pm, the Zęza sailors' tavern, Memuak Café, a grill, a pierogi bar and a food truck. In the 2026 season there were concerts there almost every day, by the shop or in Baba Pruska.

In Giżycko, on the Niegocin side, there is a restaurant in the Ekomarina building, and bars at Lowen Marina and next to Przystań Dalba. Hotel St. Bruno by the Łuczański Canal has Restauracja Biblioteka, where port guests got a 5 percent discount in 2025. On Kisajno, the tavern at Stranda is open in season from 8 am to midnight according to sailing websites, serving grilled and Norwegian food, and in July and August there are sea shanties every day. We write about evenings like this, with guitars, in our article on an evening in a Masurian port.

Lunch during the day, or when mooring is free

You do not pay for a full day just to stop for lunch halfway along your route. Some ports waive the short-stay fee for customers of their restaurant or shop.

  • Przystań Wodnik in Ruciane-Nida. A stay of up to 3 hours, priced at 30 PLN, is free with a receipt of at least 100 PLN from Tawerna Duch Puszczy. The same receipt also waives the parking fee (marina price list for 2026).
  • The port in Sztynort. You can moor for up to 3 hours free of charge with a receipt for at least 200 PLN of purchases within the port.
  • Ekomarina in Kamień on the Bełdany. According to sailing websites, from May to September it only accepts residents and restaurant guests, who moor free for 2 hours on showing their bill. For the night, the resort sends you to its second port, in Zatoka Akademii.
  • AZS port in Wilkasy. A stay of up to 3 hours is free with a receipt of at least 50 PLN from the shop at the port (2026/27 price list).

In the other ports you pay the standard short-stay rate. What a few hours at the quay costs in individual marinas is listed in our overview of port fees in Masuria.

Where there is nowhere to eat at the port

According to sailing websites, Port Netta on Kisajno and Przystań Zielona Zatoka in Bogaczewo have no food on site. On Śniardwy, the same websites list a bar at Marina Śniardwy in Nowe Guty, while the marina in Okartowo has nowhere to eat. If you are crossing Śniardwy, take food for the whole day and do your shopping beforehand in Mikołajki, where the shops are right by the port.

No grilling on board a charter yacht. You can only light a grill in designated areas of the port, and if you would rather someone else did the grilling, there is a port grill in Sztynort and a grill bar in Wierzba.
