Three days of rap inside a 19th-century Prussian fortress, right in the middle of Masuria's sailing capital. Mazury Hip Hop Festival 2026, subtitled "Reborn", runs 16–18 July 2026 (Thursday to Saturday) at the Boyen Fortress Amphitheatre in Giżycko, at Turystyczna 1. The line-up includes PRO8L3M, Bedoes 2115, Słoń and RETO, and passes are already on sale through the organiser. If you're planning a charter for mid-July, this is the week when Giżycko turns the volume up.

A festival older than a fair share of its crowd

Mazury Hip Hop Festival is Poland's oldest open-air hip-hop event. The first edition took place in 2002, when a good chunk of today's audience hadn't started school yet, and since 2010 the festival has run for three days. Over more than two decades, practically everyone who matters in Polish rap has crossed the Giżycko stage.

The 2026 edition carries the tagline "Reborn". And there's something to it: the bill is shaping up as one of the strongest in years, and the setting makes this event something no festival on a city green can match. A concert in an amphitheatre ringed by earthworks and the brick fortifications of Boyen Fortress sounds and looks different. The fortress sits on the isthmus between lakes Niegocin and Kisajno — exactly where half of sailing Masuria passes through in summer.

Who's playing in 2026

The organiser (PROMO ART LTD) announces the line-up in stages, so this list will keep growing. Confirmed so far:

  • PRO8L3M
  • Bedoes 2115
  • Słoń
  • RETO
  • Jan-Rapowanie
  • Malik Montana
  • Guzior
  • Young Igi
  • AVI
  • Kaz Bałagane
  • Rów Babicze
  • Kukon, Asster, OKEKEL

For the day-by-day schedule and further names, keep an eye on the festival's official Facebook page — announcements land there first. Day one kicks off in the evening, around 7 p.m.

Tickets: where and how much

Let's be clear up front: NaCzarter does not sell festival tickets. You can only buy them through the organiser's official sales channels — primarily Going and eBilet.

A three-day pass starts at around 555 zł. One-day tickets for Thursday, Friday or Saturday are also on sale, along with VIP packages and campsite pitches — check current prices for those directly on the ticketing platforms, because allocations and amounts change. Later ticket tiers usually cost more, so if you know you're going, there's no point in waiting.

A fortress instead of a beach — and it works

The Boyen Fortress Amphitheatre is not some fenced-off meadow. The star-shaped fortress from the mid-19th century once guarded the isthmus between the lakes; today its brick walls double as natural stage scenery. You walk out of the amphitheatre and fifteen-odd minutes later you're back in town — by the swing bridge, the harbour promenade, your boat.

And that's where the reason we're covering a rap festival on a sailing blog begins. Giżycko in mid-July is already the busiest point on the Great Masurian Lakes trail. The festival adds an evening programme no other Masurian town can offer. And the best way to tie it all together floats on Niegocin.

The festival from the deck: how to play it

Sail in, moor up, walk to the show

Giżycko sits on Lake Niegocin — one of the biggest and best-equipped lakes on the trail. The town's harbours, led by the Ekomarina, take in hundreds of yachts every summer and have everything you need after a late concert: shore power, showers, proper facilities. From the harbour, Boyen Fortress is about half an hour's walk through town, and on the way you'll pass the bars of the harbour promenade, which stay up late on festival weekend. For a detailed rundown of mooring spots and things to do, see our Giżycko guide.

One honest caveat: 16–18 July is the absolute peak of the season, with a festival crowd on top. Berths in Giżycko's harbours will go fast. Come in earlier in the day, or have a plan B at one of the marinas nearby — our round-up of the best harbours and marinas in Masuria shows where else you can tie up within an hour's sailing.

A yacht instead of a car park and a tent

Let's do the honest maths. A car on festival weekend means queues on the way into Giżycko, a parking hunt, and a night-time trek back to a tent on the campsite. A yacht means your "campsite" has a galley, berths, its own bathroom and a view of the lake. In the morning you make coffee in the cockpit instead of queueing for the showers. And between concerts — rather than killing time in the heat — you head out onto Niegocin, or through the swing bridge to Kisajno, and come back for the evening.

Thursday's 7 p.m. start leaves whole days free anyway. It's a good chance to work the area: Kisajno and its islands, the narrows between the islands towards Mamry, a swim off the side in the middle of the lake. For ideas, see our top 10 Masurian sights seen from a yacht.

A week under sail with the festival in the middle

The plan that makes the most sense is a full-week charter, say Saturday to Saturday, with the festival as the high point. You spend the first days on the water — Mikołajki, Śniardwy, Ryn, whatever you fancy — and from Thursday you're berthed in Giżycko, living the festival. On Saturday, after the last set, you sleep on the boat a hundred metres from town instead of driving home at night on a road full of returning cars. If you're putting together a summer events calendar, check Mikołajki Days 2026 too — you can fit both events into one season.

A few practical tips for the festival days

  • Book your yacht early. Mid-July is the hottest charter slot of the year, and the festival pushes demand for boats picked up in and around Giżycko even higher.
  • Get into port before the evening. On festival days, berths along the quay go by the afternoon.
  • Leave the boat locked and lit. Standard practice, but all the more so on a crowded weekend.
  • Walk to the concert. Turystyczna street and the area around the fortress will be jammed — a walk from the harbour beats any car.
  • Buy tickets through official channels only. Going and eBilet, no "bargains" from classified ads.
