What isn't included in the yacht charter price?
On top of the charter price you almost always pay for final cleaning (median 200 PLN on a sailing yacht and 300 PLN on a houseboat) and leave a refundable deposit (about 1,500 PLN on a sailing yacht, 3,000 PLN on a houseboat). Optional extras include bed linen, parking, a dog or a skipper. Mandatory fees and the deposit are settled on site, not in the online payment.
Saturday in the port, yacht handover. The bosun pulls out a sheet listing what needs settling: cleaning, deposit, car parking, bed linen. The crew digs through their wallets looking for cash for the deposit. Someone at the back remembers the bed linen is in the boot, so that line gets crossed out. Better to know that sheet before you set off than at the quay.
Below are the numbers. We collected what owners declared in their listings on NaCzarter for the 2026 season: 126 sailing yachts, 96 houseboats and 32 motor yachts. We only show items listed by at least three yachts from at least two owners. For amounts we give the median, with the range covering the middle half of listings in brackets.
What's included in the charter price and what costs extra?
The price you see in search is the yacht hire for the selected days. In peak season that's usually a week from Saturday to Saturday, while off-peak shorter stays are sometimes possible. For what the charter itself costs in different months, see the yacht charter price list for Masuria.
Outside the price there are three kinds of items:
- mandatory fees, most often final cleaning,
- the deposit, which you leave and get back after returning the yacht,
- optional services: bed linen, parking, a dog, a skipper, emptying the chemical toilet.
The online payment covers the charter. Everything else is settled with the owner or their bosun on site, at pickup or return. Each yacht listing on NaCzarter shows the fees declared by the owner, with amounts and a note on which ones are mandatory.
How much does yacht cleaning after a charter cost?
This one is practically unavoidable. On sailing yachts, owners marked cleaning as mandatory in 124 of 126 listings (17 owners). The median is 200 PLN (150–250 PLN).
Houseboats come out more expensive, since there's a kitchen, a bathroom and several cabins to clean. Cleaning is mandatory in 74 of 96 listings and optional in another 11. The median is 300 PLN (250 to about 340 PLN). On motor yachts cleaning is mandatory in 31 of 32 listings, median 200 PLN (150–250 PLN).
You pay for cleaning once for the whole charter, not per day. It doesn't release you from returning the yacht in decent condition. Washed dishes and rubbish taken out are standard, and rubbish is dropped off at the ports.
How big is the deposit and when do you get it back?
The deposit is security, not a fee. You leave it at pickup, usually in cash or as a hold on your card, depending on the owner. Once you return the yacht without damage, cash is usually handed back on the spot, while a card hold is released straight away or within a few business days, depending on your bank.
In listings on NaCzarter the median deposit is 1,500 PLN on a sailing yacht (1,000–3,000 PLN), 3,000 PLN on a houseboat (2,500–4,000 PLN) and 4,000 PLN on a motor yacht (3,000–6,000 PLN). Almost every listing states a deposit. What can be deducted from it and how to protect yourself is covered in our article on the deposit for a yacht charter in Masuria.
Are bed linen, towels and parking included?
Bed linen is an optional service. You can hire it, bring your own or sleep in sleeping bags. On houseboats 30 listings from 9 owners offer it, with a median of about 80 PLN (60–120 PLN). On sailing yachts a single owner accounts for more than half of the listings with this option, so we only give a rough range: most often about 50–60 PLN. The data doesn't show whether that's per set or per person, and with a crew of nine the difference is significant. Check the listing.
Towels are rarely available for hire, so pack your own.
Parking for your car is charged per day. On sailing yachts 95 listings from 11 owners offer parking, on houseboats 63 listings from 14 owners. In both cases the typical rate is 25 PLN per day, so 175 PLN for a week. On motor yachts it's about 30 PLN per day. If someone drops you off or you come by train, this item disappears.
How much extra do you pay for a dog on board?
Most owners who accept dogs charge a surcharge for it. On sailing yachts the dog option appears in 96 listings from 13 owners, with a median of 270 PLN (150–300 PLN). On houseboats it's 77 listings from 18 owners and a median of 200 PLN (150–255 PLN).
It's usually a one-off fee for the whole charter, but other rules do occur, so check the listing. The surcharge mainly covers extra cleaning: hair in the upholstery and mattresses. How to prepare your dog for a week on the water and what to keep in mind in port is covered in our guide to a yacht charter with a dog in Masuria.
How much does a skipper cost on a charter?
A skipper is an option, not a requirement. You take one when nobody in the crew holds the licence for that yacht, or simply when you want someone experienced at the helm. You pay per day:
- sailing yachts: offered in 106 listings from 12 owners, almost always about 400 PLN per day,
- houseboats: 72 listings from 17 owners, about 500 PLN per day (400–500 PLN),
- motor yachts: 29 listings from 7 owners, about 500 PLN per day (400–800 PLN).
For a week on a sailing yacht that's about 2,800 PLN, the biggest item on the list of extras. Count the berths too: a skipper sailing with you needs somewhere to sleep. What such a week looks like is described on our page about sailing with a skipper in Masuria.
What about the chemical toilet, fuel and ports?
Some sailing yachts have a chemical toilet. Owners offer emptying it after the trip as an option in 58 listings from 10 owners, with a median of 100 PLN (100–150 PLN). On houseboats the service appears less often, for about 200 PLN. How a chemical toilet differs from a marine one and how it's emptied in port is explained in our article on the toilet and water on a charter yacht.
We don't give amounts for fuel, because one owner dominates the data. Before booking, ask how fuel is charged: whether you return the yacht with a full tank or pay for what you use, and whether an advance payment is needed. On a houseboat or motorboat this can be a noticeable sum, on a sailing yacht it's usually small.
The gas bottle is sometimes included. A one-way charter (pickup in one port, return in another) may cost extra. Mooring fees in ports along the way and lock fees, for example at Guzianka, are paid by you separately, outside the settlement with the owner.

What does a week on a yacht really cost with fees?
Let's take an example based on medians. A sailing yacht with 9–10 berths, the week of 18–25 July 2026. The median charter price is about 6,230 PLN per week (in listings on NaCzarter, 2026 season).
- Charter: about 6,230 PLN.
- Final cleaning: 200 PLN.
- Parking for one car: 7 × 25 PLN = 175 PLN.
- Total: about 6,600 PLN, or about 730 PLN per person for a crew of nine.
Add extras as needed. Bed linen is about 50–60 PLN, but if the owner charges per person, multiply by the whole crew. A dog adds about 270 PLN, a skipper about 2,800 PLN for the week. You leave a deposit of about 1,500 PLN at pickup and get it back after returning the yacht, so don't count it as a cost, just have it ready. Also budget for ports along the route and fuel. More examples for different months and yacht types can be found in our article on how much a yacht charter in Masuria costs.
Round up. Two cars mean two parking fees, and nine sets of bed linen already add up to several hundred zloty.
One honest caveat. These are owners' declarations in their listings, and some were carried over from the previous version of the site. They are medians, not the prices of specific yachts. Before you book, read the list of fees in the listing you've chosen, and if in doubt, ask the owner.
