When the charter cost splits eight ways, a sailing holiday becomes genuinely affordable — which is why the 2014 Twister 26 has long been a favourite of student crews and groups of friends. Berths in a 4+4 layout, one enclosed cabin, the rest of life happens in the cockpit. The yacht is 7.8 m long, 2.7 m wide and carries 34 m² of sail; the 5 hp auxiliary engine covers ports and canals. The lifting ballast fin (draft 0.4–1.5 m) lets you overnight by wild shores, and a lazy jack saves nerves when dropping the main. Add a gas stove, kettle and dishes — modest facilities, but complete.
